Biography

Ken Brookner’s career in photography has spanned over 30 years, running the gamut from photojournalism to fine art photography. Brookner’s training is in the liberal arts; he studied photography at Texas Christian University and Southern Methodist University, and he holds a B.A. in General Studies and a Masters of Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University. His work life, though always returning to photography, has taken him into the worlds of computer and systems engineering, where he has worked in software and hardware design as well as in senior engineering management. After leaving the computer industry, photography again became his full-time profession, although computers now play a role in his work with the advent of digital photographic technologies and techniques.

Brookner’s early photography experience was eclectic, spanning photojournalism, fashion, and fine art photography. His later career has focused primarily on fine art photography, with particular interests in Northwestern landscapes and seascapes, and innovative portraiture – of both people and of animals.

Artwork Description and Statement

Most of the panorama series work is designed to be printed large on canvas--generally at least 54 inches wide, although this work is also available as prints on paper.

All of my work is printed with an Epson 7600 inkjet printer utilizing the Epson UltraChrome inkset with the matte-K option. I only print on paper that is archival. When printing on canvas, I use the most archival canvas available at the time of printing and coat the canvas to protect it from UV and scratching.

I hope you enjoy my work.
